The different types of man in the far past.
Ardipithicus ramidus- These were the first type of humans to even roam the earth. They appeared 5 to 4 million years ago. They are thought to look more like chimpanzees. There are only a couple of fossils that belong to an ardipithicus ramidus. Their brain sizes were only 300-350 cm3, compared to our brain, which are 1300-1400 cm3.
Australopithecus anamensis- These were the evolved type of humans after the ardipithicus ramidus. They appeared 4.2 to 3.9 million years ago. They had long arms, which are believed to be used for tree climbing. Like the ardipithicus ramidus there was many bones of the species.
Australopithecus afarensis- These were the third evolved state of humans. They appeared 4 to 2.7 million years ago. They were much bigger and muscular than the average humans. Their brain sizes were 380-430cm3, which was better than the ardipithicus ramidus. They were more like apes because they walked with their knuckles and their shoulders were colder to their heads.
Australopithecus africanus - These were the forth evolved state of humans. They appeared 3 to 2 million years ago. These were thought to be the ancestor of modern human but later study has proven it not to be true. They did have a larger brain and had a more humanlike body compared to the other human types.
Australopithecus robustus- These are the fifth state of humans. They appeared 2.2 to 1.6 million years ago. These humans had a large chest, jaw and jaw muscles, which were much larger than our crest, jaw and jaw muscle. They were more like gorilla mouths. They lived in the same time as the Homo habilis.
Homo habilis- They lived during the same time as the Australopithecus robustus, which was 2.2 to 1.6 million years ago. They are the first species of the genus Homo. That means the look more like humans than monkeys, like the pervious humans. They were small with 360-600cm3 brain volume.
Homo erectus- They came after the Homo habilis. They appeared 2 to 0.4 million years ago. Their brain capacity was 800-1000 cm3, which was close to ours. They were able to construct tools such as axes, for their own benefit. Some studies have shown that they used caves and made fire.
Homo sapiens archaic- They came after the Homo erectus. They appeared 400 to 200 thousand years ago. Their brain capacity was 900-1200 cm3. They had large brains and they might of lived in groups of a least 120 people. These were close to the average person. In addition, they walked on two legs without their hands.
Homo sapiens neandertalensis- They came right after the Homo sapiens archaic. They appeared 200 to 30 thousand years ago.
They used stone tool and very carnivores. Their legs were more bent than our legs when we walk. Many fossils were found about the Homo sapiens neandertalensis. Looked more like humans.
Homo sapiens sapiens- They at the same time as the Homo sapiens neandertalensis, but survive and became our ancestor because they were more intelligent than they were. They looked almost exactly like us. They were more intelligent which allowed them to survive in better conditions.
